Why We Exist
Maple Seed Collective | Clearwater’s Community Art Space
Create. Embrace. Experience.
Planted in 2024 and grown with heart, Maple Seed Collective is a family-run, women-owned art space built on the belief that creativity is for everyone. With roots in the local art scene and a whole lot of soul, we’re here to connect people through creativity, collaboration, and color-outside-the-lines kind of fun. We exist to create space and space to express, to connect, and to experience the many ways art can shape our lives. The Maple Seed was born out of a deep love for art and an even deeper belief in its power to bring people together.
Inspired by the humble maple seed, small, spinning, full of possibility, we believe that even the tiniest spark of creativity can take flight. That art begins in childhood scribbles, in kitchen table crafts, in shared laughter and quiet moments of making. We’re here to nurture that spark, and help it grow. Our mission is to make art accessible, approachable, and alive, not just in galleries, but in everyday life. Whether you're an artist, a supporter, or someone just beginning to explore your creative side, there's a place for you here.
Rooted in the heart of Clearwater, we are proud to be Clearwater’s community art space, a place to make, to share, and to belong. At the Maple Seed, we’re more than an art space, we’re a movement. A soulful, inclusive environment where artists, makers, and curious minds can explore their creative side, no matter their background or experience. This is a safe, welcoming space to try something new, get your hands messy, and connect through shared expression. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time, returning to a long-lost passion, or simply looking for a space to gather and
play, there’s a place for you here.
We offer a wide range of mediums to experiment with, from clay and glass to textiles, photography, painting, and more, because we know that creativity wears many faces. And we believe in embracing all of them.
Because art isn't just something you look at. It's something you live, feel, and grow with.
So come as you are, let your creativity take root, and let it fly.
Let’s create, embrace, and experience together.
Our Team
Maple Seed Collective's Owner and Founder
Beth Northcott is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of Maple Seed Collective, a community-rooted art space nestled in the heart of Clearwater. Her journey with art began in her teen years, drawn by an instinctive need to create—first through the lens of a camera, then with the delicate shaping of glass and the earthy weight of clay in her hands.
Beth moves fluidly between mediums, guided not by rules, but by rhythm — always listening to what the work wants to become. Through process and play, she invites us to see the beauty in imperfection, the sacred in the everyday, and the art in simply being present. Her work is a meditation on material — glass that catches the light like a breath, clay that holds the warmth of touch, photographs that freeze time with tenderness. Each piece is an offering: a moment stilled, a story shaped, a fragment of the world made personal. With a deep curiosity and a hands-on approach, Beth’s work reflects both experimentation and soul — often rooted in everyday beauty and the stories objects can hold. Whether capturing fleeting moments or shaping something tangible from the earth, she continues to evolve as an artist, always guided by a love for process and play.
Maple Seed Collective grew from Beth’s long-held dream of creating a space where creativity could take root and flourish. Like the maple seed itself—small, unassuming, yet full of possibility—she envisioned a place where artists of all walks could gather, experiment, and grow. In this space, art is not only made but shared; it lives in conversation, community, and the slow unfolding of inspiration.
Beth continues to create and nurture, not only through her own artistic work, but by cultivating an environment where others feel seen and supported to explore their own creative paths.
Maple Seed Collective's Artistic Coordinator
At the heart of Maple Seed Collective is Kata Ferguson, our Artistic Coordinator — a dreamer, maker, and quiet force of nature who helps bring this space to life each and every day.
Kata’s journey with art began early, guided by a deep inner pull to explore the world through color, texture, and form. Over the years, she has woven a rich and personal creative practice across many mediums — painting, graphic design, glass, sewing — each one offering a new way to speak, to connect, to wonder. Her work carries both playfulness and purpose, always rooted in the belief that creativity is for everyone.
But Kata’s impact goes far beyond the art she creates. She is an integral thread in the fabric of Maple Seed Collective - showing up not just with skill, but with soul. Whether she’s setting up a workshop, encouraging someone to try a new medium, or adding thoughtful touches that make our space feel like home, Kata helps shape the energy and magic of what we do.
She listens deeply, works with care, and moves with quiet brilliance — always seeking to make space for others to create, heal, and belong. The Collective would not be what it is without her spirit, vision, and steady presence.
To know Kata is to feel welcomed.
To work beside her is to witness art in motion.
We are endlessly grateful she’s part of our story.
