Beginner‑Friendly Hand‑Built Mug Class in Clearwater, BC!
Create your very own functional handmade mug using the slab‑building technique.
Instructor: Heath Fehr
Heath is a multi‑disciplinary artist living and working on the unceded territories of the Secwepemc First Nation. A process‑based creator, Heath uses art as a tool for communication and self‑regulation—exploring themes like mental wellness, creative flow, texture, and identity through vibrant and playful work. As an instructor, Heath welcomes students of all ages and all skill levels, fostering a safe, inclusive environment where creativity thrives and inner visions are brought to life.
What you’ll learn & make:

How to roll and prepare a clay slab

How to measure, cut and assemble the slab into a mug form

How to attach a handle and refine the details
-
How to add surface texture or design elements (optional)

By class end: you’ll have created your very own mug to be fired and later glazed (firing/glazing included)

Duration: 2 hours

Age: Participants 14 or older may attend independently. Participants under 14 are welcome when accompanied by an adult who is also enrolled in the class.
