Mini Beginner‑Friendly Clay Wheel‑Throwing Pottery Class in Clearwater, BC!

Join us on an ongoing basis — book your time slot now!

This beginner‑level class is your introduction to the world of wheel throwing. Get your hands muddy (yes, really) and discover the joy of shaping clay! In just a short session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing at an accessible rate.

Class details:

  • 30 minutes of instructor‑led throwing time, followed by clean‑up — expect up to 1 hour in total.

  • Participants 14 or older may attend independently.

  • Participants under 14 are welcome when accompanied by an adult who is also enrolled in the class.

  • You’ll work alongside your instructor and throw your own piece.

  • Class fee includes: 250 g of clay, all materials and safety equipment.

  • After class: you’re welcome to purchase additional clay to continue throwing or return on another day to build your skills.

  • While we include trimming, glazing, and kiln‑firing of your piece (if successfully thrown), please note that wheel‑throwing often requires practice to master — results may vary.

  • Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair. We recommend you trim your nails to your shortest comfortable length (though we’re happy to accommodate nail‑length enthusiasts!).

Instructor: Beth Northcott. Beth took just one wheel‑throwing class and was instantly hooked. Her passion for ceramics led her to teaching, and she now enjoys helping others discover their creativity through clay.

At Maple Seed Collective, we’re proud to partner with local artists to offer a diverse range of creative classes. Interested in teaching a class? Reach out to us!
