Stained Glass Workshop: Create Your Bear — Beginner to Experienced Levels Welcome!

Explore the art of stained glass with this engaging class led by Beth Northcott, who brings over 10 years of experience and mentorship from a renowned artist in Elora, Ontario.

What You’ll Make:

• Design and craft a beautiful stained glass bear — perfect as a keepsake from your trip to British Columbia or for anyone who loves bears as much as we do at Maple Seed Collective!

• A fun, interactive experience suitable for all skill levels from beginner to experienced.

Class Details:

• Duration: 3 to 3.5 hours

• Age: 16+

• Includes: All materials and safety equipment

• Dress Code: Please wear closed-toed shoes

What You’ll Learn & Do

• How to select and safely cut glass

• Grinding and smoothing edges

• Foiling (copper foil method)

• Soldering techniques

• Finishing touches and cleanup

• (If time allows) optional decorative touches

About the Class Name: Silvertip Falls

This class is named after Silvertip Falls, a stunning waterfall hidden beneath Trophy Mountain in Wells Gray Provincial Park. At 168 metres, it’s one of the tallest falls in the park. The name “Silvertip” also refers to grizzly bears, recognized by their distinctive whitish hair tips.

A 2 km return hike through roots, rocks, and streams will bring you to the base of this spectacular waterfall — a perfect inspiration for your stained glass project.
